Firstly, go Gwen!
Now if you told me I'd be writing that a year ago I'd have probably laughed at you. But she was awesome. I loved that Torchwood was not going to stop her wedding, sky full of spaceships, armies of Weevil's, or even alien pregnancies be damned. And her desire to keep her parents out of that world was touching. Also she clearly loves and adores Rhys. She's attracted to Jack, to that more dangerous side of him, for the same reasons she likes working for Torchwood. But she loves Rhys and in the end she chose Rhys.
(I'm not entirely sure when I became a Gwen/Rhys shipper but I am now.)
Then we have Jack... *big sigh and clips him round the ear*
Here we have Jack moony over Gwen, and a box of old photos, and being pretty dismissive of Ianto. Now I believe that Jack cares very deeply about Ianto, possibly even loves him, but he's got Ianto. There's no need to sigh and be over dramatic, Ianto is not going anywhere for at least a while.
The moments where Jack has expressed feeling for Ianto have been when he thought he might lose him. When he came back from the Doctor and he asked Ianto out - he was worried that Ianto might say no, and we got the lovely nervous, off-kilter Jack. That answer clearly mattered to him.
In Adam, Jack totally believed in Ianto. Going against the lie detector and even Ianto's own memories. Because if it had been true then Ianto wouldn't be Ianto any more and Jack would have lost him.
Jack is a huge drama queen, and while he's got Ianto, while that relationship is 'safe' (for want for a better word) there isn't all that much drama for Jack to angst over.
And herein lies a problem for Jack. Ianto isn't a drama queen. He's probably not going to shout and stomp and make demands. He's going to sit it out and watch and probably stay longer than he should but one day he might just leave.
And by then, Captain Harkness, it'll be too late. And that will be your own fault.
But at the end of the episode Gwen married Rhys and Jack is with Ianto. Which is what I wanted. It could be argued that neither relationship is completely perfect. But this is Torchwood, nothing is ever completely perfect.
And Jack Harkness probably needs a good slap.
