Two Doctor Who drabbles that I wrote when I was bored. One may be a bit too long but still...
No series 6 spoilers, some for the end of series 5
The gas bill says Mr R Williams. But that’s just a gas bill, after everything Rory finds it hard to take the gas bill seriously.
A woman on the telephone asked for ‘Mrs Williams’ and it genuinely took Rory a few seconds to connect ‘Mrs Williams’ to Amy.
But the Doctor calls them ‘the Ponds’, he calls Rory ‘Mr Pond’ and that feels right. Like he’s been waiting all his life to be ‘Mr Pond’. More than that, he’s been waiting all his life (over 2000 years) for the Doctor to call him ‘Mr Pond’.
It feels like a prize.
Life with the Doctor contained lots of running, and today at least a great deal of slipping and sliding down a muddy bank. Amy and the Doctor landed on him, heavily. He loves Amy’s knees but he could do without one lodged in his ribs.
“I need help,” came a familiar voice. Rory closed his eyes. This had to be impossible. Amy and the Doctor scrabbled up, Rory stayed where he was.
“Of course you do,” said the Doctor cheerily.
“I was talking to Rory?” said the familiar voice.
Amy said “Rory?!” with surprise.
“The Last Centurion?” said the voice. “That guy in the puddle pretending he can’t see me.”
“I can’t see you. My eyes are closed.”
“You want help from Rory?” asked theDoctor.
“Hi Dave,” said Rory wearily.
