GOODBYE LENIN!
It was a pretty day yesterday. After class, at 7pm I was sooo tired I just wanted to go home and sleep. My friends drove me home and just when I was coming down the car they said: no way! we are going to the movies! So we went to see GOODBYE LENIN! http://www.good-bye-lenin.de/intro.php. We went for 3 beers before it started, then bought all sorts of junk food: ice-cream, popcorn, chocolate raisins, chips and more beer (we hid it in our bags). I never eat at the movies, but what the heck!
W0NDERFUL WONDERFUL MOVIE!
ITs one of the best films Ive ever seen! And it made me cry, and it made me remember my German friends (both Ossies und Wessies) and how they told me about their very different experiences. And Adriana and I totally dug the mother. And we understood the movie better because we've read and studied so much about the situation in both Germanies, and the writers (Anna Seghers!!!!!) and the Stasi and everything! It was so touching and wonderful.
In this very sad scene, I exclaimed in German OH NEIN! And I thought everyone was going to tell me to shut the fuck up, but they all bursted out laughing.
I can still sing: UNSERE HEIMAT, DAS SIND NICHT NUR DIE STÄDTE UND WÄLDER!
I just loved it loved it loved it! Go watch it if you have the chance! AND I MUST GET THE DVD! And I must take my dad and mum to watch it, they are sooo goinug to love it!
