This is just precious. I see a lot of foolishness going on in the world, but rarely so blatant.

(Also, I love how the guy goes by Jim Bob. That's so appropriately redneck.)

We thought we could set our own timetable for having children, for example- when we were ‘financially able,’ or when we ‘had all our ducks in a row.’
You can set your own timetime for having children. This makes for fewer unwanted, starving, or resented kids.

We read in the Bible that God says that children are a blessing and a reward from Him (Psalms 127:1-5). We had been rejecting His gifts. At that point, we prayed and asked God to forgive us and we gave Him this area of our lives. We said, ‘Lord, help us to love children the way that you love children, and Lord we want to receive each one as a gift from you.’
It's good you asked your cranky deity to forgive you for exercising common sense. I'd not have the humility myself. It's also good that you've explained to me that having children when you are not financially able is a good thing rather than an irresponsible thing. You have shown me the way.

We have seen God do miracles, as He has multiplied our children, He has multiplied our provisions and met our needs every step of the way.
Actually, I think your propensity for screwing without birth control has multiplied your children, but what do I know?

We searched the scriptures & found that God says, “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: & the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them” (Psalms 127:3-5).
Bear in mind that the scriptures were written thousands of years ago in a harsh climate, and there were no modern cures for diseases, and therefore many children were a good thing because half of them were bound to meet an early end anyway. I don't think you really need 15 kids now, folks.

I'm so glad I don't believe in fairy stories.

ha, dis, religion
