Waited for my internet to automagically shut itself off, and then it occurred to me to call customer service and find out when it'd be done.
Found out something in the process: My phone's handsfree thing doesn't have an independent volume control; the button on the cord hangs up the current call; and when I hang it in its usual spot, it just wreaks havoc with my CRT monitor, making all kinds of wavy lines and things. Must fix that by moving the little hangy-thing.
Anyhoo. It turns out there's nothing on my account about disconnecting.
*headdesk*
They said I can call later and they'll shut it off right then and there. That's when I remembered about my work email, which is on this account. I'd intended to wait until the account was shut down, then set up a new one on my parents' account (the work connection) for awhile until people got used to using the new one. So I asked about this, and the guy said it could just be transferred but they'd need to talk to that account holder for confirmation. So that'll have to be done later this afternoon or evening, depending on whose name is on the account.
And then I'll be offline until at least the 18th.
