Kitty post: He's been named.
Thank you everyone who gave me suggestions ~ they resulted in a name for the new kitten:

He's been to the vet down the hill, and given a clean bill of health.
Now, because I really can't help myself, I will indeed keep posting about his further adventures. Because some people don't really care (and I really don't blame them), the subject line will be prefaced with "Kitty post" and I'll keep them under a cut.
