*hits work compy with a sledgehammer repeatedly*
Okay, remember a few months ago when my computer died? The processor went kerfizzle, and something popped in the hard drive. So I took my sweetie's computer, copied my hard drive onto a new one with help of the laptop, an external HD case and some file recovery software, and got an even better system out of the whole deal.
Well, about ten minutes ago the new system went kerplunk. Processor's fine, but the hard drive won't boot. Running diagnostic software on it now, which should help...but in the meantime, I'm stuck for work. I'm supposed to be doing mega-overtime because of my flu last week (took 3 days off) and the upcoming Christmas/wedding/after-wedding trip time off...and all my stuff's on that hard drive. Last time it happened I just hooked it up externally and worked off the laptop until I could take a day to get the new one ready...this time, that's not going to work as the drive is being worked on and can't be taken out until this, like, hour-long testing is done, and it needs to be done right away because of all the stuff that's due tomorrow.
So, I think I'll just take this opportunity to do some wedding stuff, and work even later. That should work.
Argh. Computers. I love to hate 'em.
