I think there are a few really experienced in travel arrangements in my friends list, so I thought I'd throw this out and see if any one has any recommendations. . . .
Because of the time I have built up over the last 5 years, I need to take more than a couple of weeks off probably closer to three (there are other smaller times as well but those I think I know what I'll do) prior to the end of the year.
What I'm wondering, is the end of the calendar year, between December 14 and January 11, a good time to go to London? I'd like to end up with a couple of weeks across the pond, with maybe a short side trip (Paris or Amsterdam sound like great possibilities for a day) and a trip up to Aslockton in Lincolnshire (it's a Cranmer thing) . . . but I was hoping to get suggestions on airlines (though it's probably too early for that), hotels (though I may have a place to stay at a friend of a co-worker) and other suggestions.
