i think phoenix feathers are just as strong as other feathers, and thus this wouldnt be possible. i also think that when harrys wand broke in canon in deathly hallows it was completely snapped in two, feather broken and everything. but correct me if im wrong, its been a while since i read the books.

I'm not sure there's any significance to this. I think the author just wanted an image of the broken wand being like Ron's wand in Chamber of Secrets, held together by the unicorn hair. The difference there is that unicorn hair is like horse hair only (per canon) even stronger thanks to magic, not, you know, a feather.

okay. if there was a 'goblin' method of dealing with horcruxes, dont you think that would be common knowledge? dont you think that more people would have done that to horcruxes in the timeline before this?! dont you think that voldemort would have done research on this and ordered the exterimation of all pigs during his first regime to prevent this from happening?!

Not to mention that Harry blames Dumbledore's "arrogance" for never having been told about the pig method of Horcrux disposal. I'm pretty sure Dumbledore didn't write "Secrets of the Darkest Art", from which Hermione learns about the creation and destruction of Horcruxes at the beginning of Deathly Hallows. (Yes, I have just passed that chapter in my re-read. :D )

our gryffindor-ian hero, ladies and gentlemen!

I know, right?

have i mentioned youve got a great tagging system for these?

Glad you like it. I think it really took off during the Deserving review, where I started using it for tropes as well as just fic and fandom titles and random jokes.
