Maybe wizarding sperm can apparate? That would certainly make wizard porn more interesting.
I initially thought that it seeming like Hermione and Jamie were planning a hookup was an unintentional innuendo... but of course it wasn't. It's fairly impressive the way the writer manages to not only take it far beyond it actually being funny by having the characters laugh uproariously at it, but then takes it further still, to the point at which it becomes really uncomfortable.
Another issue: I can understand to a certain extent the difficulties for a teacher in how to handle the situation Pomfrey finds herself in. There's the natural tension between ensuring that the student is protected from harm, and that the student will actually willingly listen to you. She goes far too far, seemingly not even trying to persuade Jamie to think about things, but at least she's not Hermione.
Oh, and edited to add - the first thing that Matt's horrendous behaviour so suddenly here - under the circumstances - makes me think of is the trope Came Back Wrong - it really does seem as if Caitlin's attempt to revive him has somehow caused him to become possessed or something.

Indeed. Simply lampshading the awkwardness would've been effective writing in and of itself. Adding in the gorram laugh track, however, just makes the entire scene look farcical. And, like I said, it draws attention to the possibility of the author typing that passage with one hand...
