As I may have mentioned elsewhere, Doctor Who geekdom in this city is limited to, say, about 10 people. And I know five of them. Hell, I converted three. So the local Toys-BackwardR-US doesn't stock the toys, and at the comic/collectible stores, Doctor Who merchandise is special order only. There is a bigger market for SAW toys than Doctor Who, if you go by what is on their shelves.
At the local comic shop, I have a standing order for Doctor Who magazine and the new Buffy comics, and they left a message on my voice mail asking if I wanted to pre-order the new Doctor Who comic. I went in today to confirm that yes, I wanted it, duh, and to pick up the latest Buffy. When what did I spy out of the corner of my eye?
Doctor Who figures! Squee!
It's about time, is all I have to say! I was feeling a little isolated in my geekdom, but apparently, there are enough of us here to warrant ordering a few of the figures! Or maybe they finally got sick of me asking!
So now I am a proud owner of my very own Martha Jones 5' figure! Is it too pathetic for me to admit that this totally made my day? Or that I immediately called home to tell my husband?
Yay, Martha! Now my Tiny Ten will have someone to keep him company other than his tin dog and the Face of Boe!!
