So I haven't been posting a lot of writing here because I've been working on embarrassing fandom projects. To ease my financial issues, I'm considering offering literature commissions. There's not a lot of call for it so I don't expect to make oodles of money, but every little bit helps. This post is more about discussing the feasibility of such.
Looks like the going rate for people of my skill level is about $1/400 words.
I really don't have anything else to say about that right now. I know a lot of my pals out there in internet land are writers, so I'm mostly looking for advice. I would have a soft cap on the size of a project, number of projects at a time (no more than 2, waitlist available), set up deadlines, progress reports, etc. I'm much better at writing under pressure than I am at writing for fun, so I'm not particularly concerned about meeting deadlines or leaving projects unfinished. This might eventually lead into me trying to freelance for publications, but I don't know where to start with that yet.
