Honestly, this is just a little pointless post, done with the intention of letting the people who know me know that, yes, I've finally, FINALLY gotten my very own MacBook. It's just a black Macbook, not a MacBook Pro or Air, but I'm very happy with it. After all, it's all mine. XD
I got it last Monday, May 12, 2008. It came as a pleasant surprise, especially considering events prior to that time. < cough > burping_volcano, you know the story. -.-
ANYWAY, I wanted to set this up all in one go, that's why I only waited 'til today, Thursday, to actually set it up. I was out on both Tuesday and yesterday. In actuality, the entire thing is still lacking a few stuff I think. I have other stuff to set up which I will do with the help of someone more knowledgeable on Macs - my adopted shobe, Squishy. In fact, I'm going to her house this Saturday just to do this. I don't quite get everything yet. That's what I get for being a Windows user all my life up 'til now. Haha. XD I'll learn though, just like I do with everything else. Besides, it was MY choice to get a Mac. I've always wanted one, and now I have one. XD
I'm really thankful to my dad 'coz he puts up with me and does all these things for me. It's gotta be considered that I'm his favorite, but yeah, I'm still thankful anyway.
So, now I'm using my Mac, which I have a name for btw. I don't know who exactly knows this bit of info about me, but I name almost all my stuff. I consider it a really big thing that all my stuff have names. As CLAMP says in xxxHolic and Angelic Layer, names are special things. An object has power equal to that of its name. Also, once something has a name, it is no longer just a thing, but a friend. I take that rather seriously, so all my things have names. Just for formality's sake, I shall list the names of my "gadgets" here, plus the meanings for people's sakes 'coz I'm absolutely weird that way. XD
MacBook: Khyda [pronounced "ki - da"] - meaning: "shadow", hence the title of this entry for those who noticed ;)
Cell Phone: Vycha [pronounced "vi - ka"] - meaning: "waves" as in "wavelength"
iPod: Wysh [pronounced "wish"] - meaning: "water"
Nintendo DS Lite: Cairo [pronounced the same way as its capital namesake] - meaning: "color"
Why they mean the way they do? That's for me to know, and for you to find out. XD
So there, my very own Mac. I really must get use to it. Haha. XD I'm sure I'll figure out everything eventually... but, who knows how long that'll be? XP Anyhoo, that's all this post was really for, so I shall now bid my adieus. XD
