[There is heavy sarcasm in his rasping voice.] I don't know. Perhaps it has something to do with my ruthless ambition and willingness to kill anyone who gets in my way?

Ahh. Then perhaps ambition could be defined as another trait limited to Inmates.

What are the specifics of your situation?

I intended to become a god, and was willing to kill my own brother if he should get in my way until I discovered that the future that would await me if I proceeded as planned was...less than pleasant. I also betrayed a woman who loved me, leaving her to die in the Abyss in my attempt to reach Takhisis, the goddess I wished to slay to take her place.

That is quite ambitious [and not exactly how CLU's own story panned out, but it's almost similar in some distant ways]. Do you believe your actions were necessary, or would it all have been considered 'selfish' by others?

It sounds like your offense, mostly, was intention.

My intentions were entirely selfish.

[This User's frankness and unapologetic attitude about himself fascinates CLU.]

If not by necessity, then what were the motivations behind your actions? [He can take a guess at the answer to that, but he asks anyways. Then:] Do you believe in this 'redemption' business?

I want power.

That depends on what you mean. Do I believe the wardens are truly trying to redeem us? Yes. Do I believe I will be redeemed? No.

Fair enough.

Why not? [He doesn't quite see the need in it for himself, but he's still curious.]

Because I will never not want power.
