It is good to be home. I slid into Amherst just in time for graduation last Friday evening. Literally. Didn't even go home, just went straight to campus and found a seat in my cap and gown brought to me by Daniel. I arrived with my parents, who picked me up from JFK. They were originally supposed to arrive after me, but due to a bizarre snafu, I was delayed and they picked me up instead. It was nice that customs let me keep my tree gum and mahua flower. Graduation weekend was a bit of a whirlwind, but pretty fun. On Monday, my parents and I drove up to Vermont to straighten financial stuff out with my study abroad program. We made some good progress with that - we spoke with the Provost, who listened to us and is actually willing to work with us. We came home and played Settlers. It was cool to see my Mom win two times in a row since she usually isn't a board game person. They left early Tuesday morning. My mom's flight isn't until Wednesday & my dad's is on Saturday, but I guess they'd rather do family history research in NYC  than spend more time here...

Daniel is working in a warehouse. He has night hours, so he's usually gone from about 5:30 or 6pm until about 3 in the morning, so he goes to bed around 8am. I've been experimenting with my sleep schedule so that I can see him more, because I didn't see much of him on Sunday and Monday. I think what is going to work best is to go to bed around 2/230 am and get up around 1030 or 11. That way I'll get to see Daniel more on his days off at least, and have enough sleep but I'll still have a day to accomplish things with.

People keep asking me what I'm going to do now that I've graduated. My plan is basically to get a job, take care of putting finances into shape, move back to Northampton, and focus on establishing the Sunflower Village Initiative while supporting Daniel through school. I am also going to really really enjoy what the Pioneer Valley has to offer now that I'm not burdened with the obligations of student life. I'd like to visit Alaska sometime in the near future, possibly with a stop in Seattle. I'd like to go back to India for a visit in a couple of years, take Daniel to see the Taj Mahal and ride a camel and see my Indian families.

So that's it for now. Time for some game time and to put the new covers on my bed. Nighty night.
PS Ben & Jerry's Red Velvet Cake ice cream is awesome.
