Daniel woke me up with kisses and left me grits, so that was a lovely start to the day. I took a shower and took my time making my sandwich. I even stretched and read a little bit of the Draconomicon before I left. It was rainy outside, but I didn't mind.... at least not at first. Except that I quickly realized how slick the streets were. Everything was crazy misty and I slowed down to be safer. Unfortunately, I almost slid while crossing the street embedded streetcar tracks. When I had to cross them a second time, I tried to approach them head on so my wheels wouldn't catch, but they did anyway! My bike slid out of control and I wiped out right in front of an intersection. Fortunately the light changed shortly after, and I managed to get up and get my bike to the sidewalk. I was all scraped up and stinging all over my limbs. A very kind lady stopped to see if I was okay, and she helped me get my bike over to the gas station. She offered me money to get home, but I had enough for the bus I said. The gas station attendant said he'd watch my bike, and I sent the lady on her way. The attendant let me try to call Daniel on the phone (which didn't let me call), and provided paper towels. He offered to call a cab but I didn't have the money for that. He said not to worry about it, so I went to the bathroom and started cleaning myself up, and he called me when theh cab arrived. It was very nice of him. When I got home, I woke up my roommate, Matt, and he helped me clean up a little, but he was too queasy to help clean out most of the dirt. So I did the best I could. Then I got online and
thairian was kind enough to call Daniel & my work, since I didn't have phone access. After that I just tried to relax, and I spent most of the morning playing Civilization II. Later in the afternoon, I got really sleepy and took a nap. I had a dream about X-men and crazy space adventures. Then Daniel came home and doctored the rest of the dirt out of my wounds as gently as possible. A little later, we took a walk back to the gas station and got my bike. The same attendant was there. I didn't have much money at all or I would have given it to him. Maybe I'll make him cookies instead. Anyway, my day got better and better. Daniel ran after my bike on the way home to get some extra excercise, and I made us tomato soup and yummy tomato grilled cheese sandwiches and ham grilled cheese sandwiches. We ate them while we watched Trigun, and we've been taking turns playing Civilization II incessantly. I just spent an hour online working on typing up things for my major project and setting things in motion. Thank you,
