So I got my car back and I am road ready once again. Looking forward to some end-of-summer/fall trips north. Woo!
Bill was ouch as expected. I will be holding a sale/special on commissions come early September. I'm not sure of the details or duration yet, so don't ask.
nyankoframe you still have a $20 credit with me. You are welcome to use that on part of the upcoming special or if you want to claim two digital sketches per the cheap sketches promotion.
Otherwise, just prepping for the IMMINENT HURRICANE DOOOOOOM. Thankfully, Tuesdays are grocery days, so I don't need to visit the store. I did drop by the local shopping center for a case of rootbeer and MAN the parking lot was packed. BREAD, MILK AND EGGS! I have those things, phew. Just wanted some rootbeer. For the most part I don't have much to do to prepare for the storm. Have supplies; provided no disaster becomes of the house, it's just about buckling down.
Because of the storm last night the humidity here is INSANE. Like walking outside into a wall. In part I'm looking forward to (what will be Tropical Storm) Irene to clear some of it away.
I was awake Thursday morning when the 4.5 rumbled through. At first I thought it was the central air unit coming on; then I realized it was already on and the rumbling continued. Thankfully nothing like the 5.8 on Tuesday, just some light rumbling that lasted about 10 seconds.
I did not feel any of the sub-3 'micro' quakes that happened later on Thursday. That's pretty typical, however. I think when it gets to 3 or below unless you're atop the epicenter you don't feel it.
Also, LJ appears to be acting funny again.
