Specifics?
Nah :-)
Basically I had some trouble getting my holidays from work, as in their promise to assign them was a little false, and they decided instead that if we hadn't chosen them, we'd loose them.
I informed them otherwise, as they had said on several occasions that they would be allocated. Lying to staff isn't appriciated by the union :-)
Certain concerns where raised with the personel managers, who agreed with my point of view, and I now get my holidays. Which is nice, only it shouldnt have been so stupid in the first place.
So I am in tomorrow, and friday next week, then I am off for a month, as of monday I am renouncing online games before 5pm, excepting Sundays. I need to do some actual work.
I intend to go to my parents place for a week while I am off, spend some time with my mum, and in the library in Hull. Which is going to be a nightmare as teh bus system is still fooked up in Hull.
I am starting to seriously consider staying at Tesco, I dont want to, but as a teacher I start on £18k a year, as a Duty manager I earn £18k a year and have a load less hassle, and if I do the Graduate training program, which I am more than qualified for, I jump in above Duty managers at £21k a year. I'm going along to a meeting in Hull on the 1st of march, and I hope to sign up for Duty manager of the new store they are opening in Scarborough.
Do I want to?
Get money? Yes.
Teach? Yes. Secondary school? No.
So this leaves me with two options, I can try to get a collage position with my masters and a teaching qualification which drops me in at 20k, but will take another 2 years of paying for education.
Or I could try for my doctorate, which *IF* I get a job with it raises my wages up 10K to £30k a year.
This option increases my time in learning to 6+ extra years in education however!
Meaning I start earning at age 30...
Almost half my life spent in education?
Not so sure about that.
I'm still thinking about it, but at the moment applying for better jobs within Tesco looses me nothing and gains me management experience. So for now I'll see what I can get within Tesco, I have two paths, one goes further, but obviously takes longer. The other could be much shorter, and as at the moment the paths run parallel I'll just keep going along both :-)
Good night folks.
