Name: Greed
From: Fullmetal Alchemist
LJ Account:
greedy_devilAge: at least 250, but appears around 33.
Magie or Non-Magie?: Magie-- can manipulate the carbon atoms in her body to create a nearly impenetrable shield over her skin, and can regenerate any wounds or lost limbs...her speed and strength are nearly three times that of a normal human as well.
Occupation: Bar owner. Possibly Madame.
Personality: Greed is...well...greedy. Men, women, wealth, power, even the entire world are not safe from her unbridled avarice. She can be pleasant in her own bizarre way with children, and has a mocking fondness for those things she deems "hers", but mostly she just wants more and more of everything material...and just one case of the immaterial--the secret to true immortality. She is not Envy, as she loathes him and thinks him a coward, and proves it by taking the things she wants instead of only desiring them. She is quite fond of a young man she met in Amestris after their "dances", as she refers to their fights, and has decided that she owns him. Regardless of unendless protesting and angry flailing.
Background: As a human woman, Greed was free spirited and only slightly less greedy than she is now. After being killed by her lover, Hohenheim, she was brought back to life through alchemy as a homunculus. She rebelled, eventually, leaving Hohenheim's rule to live on her own terms. For this, she was sealed with her own human skull deep within what would someday become the Amestris military's Laboratory 5. During a raid on Lab 5, she was set free, and in turn she freed several chimeras who had been experimented on in the same building...and former state alchemist Zolf J. Kimblee, whom she took along only because she admired his....methods. And maybe his hair. And heaven knew she needed a new boy-toy after spending 150 years being sealed in a dusty old laboratory.
With her new underlings in tow she entered Dublith, founding the Devil's Nest bar out of a shabby old warehouse. There Greed spent her days enjoying good drink and good company--or what she thought was good company--until she heard of the young homunculus Wrath and sent one of the chimeras, Bido, and Kimblee to find him. Unfortunately, the mission ended up being something of a failure, with Wrath falling into Envy's clutches and Kimblee taking off with Colonel Frank Archer.
Her plan foiled, she picked up a new lead--that of a young boy whose soul had been bound to a suit of armor. No need to eat, sleep, or worry about aging. Almost perfect immortality. She and the other chimeras tracked the boy and his brother to the mansion where Hohenheim now resided. It was there that Greed "danced" with her new possession for the first time...only to be interrupted by Hohenheim. But with the armor-boy in tow they returned to the Devil's Nest, where Greed inquired about the secret to the soul-binding transmutation. Cue the entrance of one scary housewife, whom Greed was more than happy to demonstrate her abilities to, and then her possession made his grand entrance.
As Greed and her new toy fought again, the state military decided to pay them a little visit. Kimblee had returned, stealing Greed's human skull from its place in her office's safe. With the skull in Colonel Frank Archer's possession, Greed was powerless to stop the assault on the Devil's Nest. She and her four most trusted chimeras, along with the armor-boy, began to flee along the waterways below the bar. After escaping, she agreed to let the boy go while she and her remaining underlings formed a new plan. They would go to the country of Syriuci that lay far to the west, and rebuild the Devil's Nest greater than it had ever been.
...not that fear of Archer in possession of her skull had any part in her decision whatsoever. Nope.
