Utah Fiasco

So, my trip wasn't what I expected it to be. At all. I'm going to divide it onto lists, good and bad.

THE BAD PARTS:
-- Not going to California after all, and being told the night before we were to leave.
-- Not getting a seat on the flight out on Friday, causing my parents to decide to DRIVE to Utah in one straight shot. It took 24 hours. We ran into a blizzard in Wyoming, the kind where you can't see the road in front of you. Dad drove in it anyway, causing me to have a severe panic attack which ended in me heaving my guts out in a disgusting rest-stop bathroom by an inexplicable gigantic statue of Abraham Lincoln. The trip resulted in a lot of bad feelings, that carried on throughout the weekend.
-- Being in Utah made me think of the last time I was there, which involved Jake Ballard and our "yeah, we're never going to be a couple" talk. That part didn't bother me, but I missed him. And It made me think of Azul, who got deported by the dumbass government. I miss her too.
-- I saw my best friend Natalie for the first time since then as well, and found that we've kind of drifted apart. It was very sad, I cried about it later.

THE GOOD PARTS:
-- I met a lot of amazing new people who I already love bunches.
-- I had a lot of good, long talks with Emily. She wants me to move out there for the summer, I said that I might. We'll see.
-- The hotel had a pool, and I got to wear my new suit for the first time. Rock on.
-- Another thing about the hotel: BEST BED EVER. I have had dreams about beds such as those. White covers and everything. It was like sleeping in a cloud of awesome.
-- I bought a polished Septarian Nodule. It's shaped like an egg and I love it. I think I already have a rough one, but the rest of my rocks are at my parents', so I don;t know for sure. I need to go look.
-- Singing in my sister's church is AMAZING. Everyone there is so good, it was like singing in a choir even though we were just in the congregation, it was intense.
-- I finished To Kill A Mockingbird for the second time, and remembered how great that book is.

So... it was interesting. Very emotional in a lot of ways. I'm very glad to be home-- I need a little normal for a while.
