Dearest SupernaturalI don't know if I can watch you tonight. Granted, I only started to watch you this summer, but it was a beautiful and fantastic summer of awesomeness that I will never regret. I know that you and your writers have some deep issues with females, not to mention your mostly female fandom has exceptionally screwed up issues with ( Read more... )

Having a vagina is a fatal illness in TV land (and especially in TV fandom land).

I don't watch that show (though I see enough of it on Fandom Secrets to sort of follow along), but it still sucks to have to give up on what should be a fun thing because of increasing dis-continuity or inanity or general misogyny.

I think I watched FlashForward tonight for the last time. For a show that tries so hard to be smart it's dumb as a brick.

The moment I gave up on FlashForward was when I saw a preview for the episode where Bad Guy decides to play Accidental Bad Guy w/Possible Heart of Gold in poker, with the stakes being something having to do with the flash forward. I mean, I put up with all of that inane babble that was supposed to sound ridiculously smart, and then they throw a massive secrets hang in the balance of a POKER GAME at me? I think not.

I love Supernatural. For a long time I ignored the misogyny for what I thought was a compelling story, but I think killing off the only two awesome female characters left is going to have a pretty negative response with me. I still haven't watched the episode yet, and usually it's the first thing I do when I get home. I am so torn.

seriously, the female in this show how may end up avoiding a body bag is fucking Becky. But Jo had such frigging potential, then the dumped her, then dragged her back and didn't know what to do with her, and then killed her. ARGH. I mean, I was moved by her sacrifice, but I think I'm moving from speechless to fucking pissed. Yeah, I'm pretty much fucking pissed.

I still cannot bring myself to watch it. I want to. Everything in me is screaming to watch it, and yet...I seriously think I will definitely need the two month break between episodes to forgive the show for this giant error in storytelling and logic. So I don't watch it.

Honestly, Jo (and Ellen, but mainly Jo) is the perfect example of what happens when a show tries to make fans happy. Fans are idiots. They should not be listened to ever. And now they have killed off every significant female character on the show who isn't an incompetent fangirl.

FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC.
