Isn't there some kind of England day anyway?

Canada isn't a complete Republic, they botched the bill half way through or made some ammendment which denied them their complete Independence.

I know of a CommonWealth Day, but that doesn't really count, does it?

There were plans to introduce an annual Trafalgar Day holiday a few years ago, but the government scrapped the plans because they thought it would upset the french.

Well 'Thanks giving' was made by the Pilgrims to thank the Native Americans who saved their lives by providing food, water and shelter during a harsh winter.

Subsequently the Americans/Pilgrims pillaged their villages, destroyed their homes, wiped out most of them and drove the rest to the west, to suffer and die painfully over the next 100+ years.

Great 'thanks'.
