Months ago, when I was hurt and sad and lonely, we talked on the phone for almost two hours. Because my cell doesn't work in my house, I went outside and sat in the playground across the street. And for that brief time, it was as if there was no distance; I was sitting in the sun with my dearest friend who offered comfort, sympathy, wisdom, and a healthy dose of humor when I needed them all.

Geez, woman, where to start? So many memories that come to mind involve your beautiful smile and your obvious joy in living and listening to other people. A very clear, random one is sitting in Cool Beans, seeing you come in the door, and feeling very warmed by the huge grin on your face when you caught sight of us.
Watching you and the H.A. share some private joke while leaning over a seaside railing, watching the seals galumph onto the beach. The way you whole-heartedly played with him -and- seriously listened to him was a delight.
