More fiddling with Gimp

I like the picture, but the icons don't really work, somehow...( manips and stuff )

Oooh, what a picture! Is that Pike shot from the torture scene? Combined with the worried faces of Kirk and McCoy my mind is going dark places with this... should I expect the Draws series to become darker in atmosphere? ;-)

I can sort of see what you mean with the pic working better than the icon, though. Hm, you could try to move "haunted" a little more upwards, so that it sits as a divider between the upper section with Kirk and Pike and the lower part with McCoy? Not sure because I'm also not good with these composition questions. (And even worse with Photoshop... somehow, I can't even figure out how to resize without getting blurry pics *fail*)

Yes, it's a Pike shot from the torture scene - it's so brilliantly played out, I heart it so much.

The Draws series will have some darker aspects but it rather resists turning into one of my hard-core thingies *G*

The icon is just too small to bring the color differences really across, afais, so the motive composition gets lost and the people cannot be recognized anymore.

Ah, see, here I was just going to comment on the interesting colour differences. :D I'm not sure but I think it does work... just maybe not as well as the bigger manip. ;-) The one who is IMO hardest to recognise and the only one I'd have a problem with if I hadn't seen the bigger version is McCoy, because he's also the pic with the most colour changes AFAIS.

Ah, I want this to work so badly because it's such a neat idea!
Shutting up about that now.

Yay, some darker aspects in Draws. *anticipates*

I still have the Gimp file here, I can also work on it - or try to find a better Bones pic for this.

However, manips eat TIME like nothing else, and I should do some other things - besides rarely being happy with the results that make me usually feel sub-par and hurt my sometimes-laughably-fragile ego :(

Hey, you're such a good writer and good vidder, too (thinking esp. of Nothing Else Matters here) that I have a feeling you mostly feel sub-par with manips because you're comparatively so much better at the other things. ;-) *huggles*
