Taking Back Sunday...awesome as always

So last night Eric and I took a drive up to Sacramento for a concert we had been waiting for all summer. Granted it took us three hours to get there and we missed the first band, but it was more than worth it for what we did see.

The opening band we did see was Head Automatica, who was pretty good but nothing special. I would see them again if they were to be with a band I wanted to see, but wouldn't go just to see them. After they were done the bands we had gone to see got started up...

First up was Angels and Airwaves. When my friend is Syracuse had told me that Tom from Blink 182 was releasing an album with his new band way back in February and then played me the first single I got really excited as it was. When I finally bought the album, I really loved the music. They're really nothing like Blink but are still awesome. The set was awesome, the music was great and they had huge amounts of energy. Tom was hilarious too when he interacted with the crowd, even walking around in the stands at one point. They really tried to get fans into the songs too, which was also awesome. They played their whole cd, which was really good, and nailed some of my favorite songs, most noticeably, Distraction. Definitely would love to see them again.

After came the band we had driven all the way to Sacramento to see, and one of my favorite bands, Taking Back Sunday. I had already seen them once back at the beginning of last summer and had always wanted to see them again. They were great live once again and didn't disappoint in the least bit. They played almost every song I had come to hear and played them all great. Bonus Mosh, MakeDamnSure, Timberwolves, everything was great. They are awesome on the stage too, energy and crowd interaction are very good. The better news was I've also been informed I get to see them again, as they will be playing at the New York State Fair, which just happens to be held in Syracuse, New York right at the beginning of the school year.

This was a great summer for concerts and it was capped off with an amazing one. It was over really early though, so we headed over to a camp party when we got back into the city for a good cap to the night. Good times as always.
