SO I built a eurotrash goth outfit circa 80's by cutting up a shirt I had, adding a friends collar, using fishnets for arm covers and eye liner. Oh and pounds of hair crap. It worked nicely. I might just do that from now on.
Lots of great outfits and the crowd was really fun. People were very polite and we didn't get an influx of frat boys for once. Not that they aren't welcome, I just don't care for the "look at all the freaks" attitude they bring to the place. You would think they might realize that being in preppy clothes at a fetish ball makes them the strange ones.
Took care of my friend who didn't realize that by telling the bartender she wanted a drink for 5 dollars or less would net her a very powerful drink indeed. Nice bartenders that know you tend to assume when you say 5 dollars or less then that is all you have to spend and they mix you a VERY wicked strong drink. She has learned her lesson albeit rather painfully the next day.
Thanks to everyone for saying hullo. Thanks to the birdman for double checking I was a sober driver before I headed out. That sort of thing makes me feel happy that people care.
Some people were very rude for no reason about me taking my friend home rather than to out for after-party coffee. I don't really understand this. Who wants to go to a public place when they are too drunk to stand and are going to get puking sick soon? To those that treated me like that, get a little perspective. I was watching out for my friend and I don't need shit about doing something like that.
All in all it was fun and I can't wait for the next one ^_^
