Been an interesting day. Came into work supremely upset last night over private matters between myself and a close friend and wound up pretty well moping around for the majority of my shift. As I'm on the last leg of my patrols for the day, I look outside of one of the windows that I'm passing and to my utter amazement, on one of the benches in the quad, a falcon is perched atop its morning meal. No more than ten feet between me and the raptor, and the only barrier within that space was two panes of thin glass.
Yes, I got pictures; I would have been stupid to waste such a wonderful opportunity and I'm grateful the Lord saw fit to bless me with such a unique experience to lift my mood from the gloomy spell I'd been under all night. I'm too tired right now to be able to discern if there was any particular meaning He meant me to gain from this, but nonetheless, I'm thankful for it. By no means a once in a lifetime experience, but one certainly rare enough to be marked in my mind for a long while to come.
Sometimes it really is the smallest things that make all the difference. :)
