I generally approve of letting people take over accounts that were created and never used. (
interrobang and
acroyear are available, by the way.)
John CampbellThings are less clear for accounts that were used and have been abandoned. For example the dystopic cartoons of John Campbell's
stereotypist journal and
picturesforsadchildren website - both now gone - were the source of many
icons I created. Now my icons link to a site that doesn't exist or to a journal that has a new owner and entries that are gone.
If John Campbell wanted those entries removed, then that's fine. But if he didn't care either way, the rest of us have been deprived of that content. The people who might want the context of my icons can't see the complete cartoons they came from.
