poagies and bells?

In everything I've read about poagies, I've seen no mention of bells. Poagies attach to the handlebars and cover the hands and everything you need to reach frequently/quickly - the brake levers and the shifters. Inside the poagies, you can wear lighter gloves, or stay with heavier gloves and be comfortable in much colder weather. Maybe other places winter cyclists have the trails to themselves, but here I still see others out with me. There's other year-round commuters, and there's still people out for walks. (And there's still the homeless out in some areas. They don't suddenly all have (or want?) other places to be in the winter.)

So I still need to use my bells. And an insulating enclosure is going to be a muffling enclosure. If the bells are outside the poagies they're going to be difficult to reach, and require riding one handed briefly. Ice patches, anyone?

Horns that run from compressed air will have the same problem, although I'm concluding they're not suited for recumbents with under-seat steering to begin with. I'll have to go electric for a horn, and wiring for a switch can be routed into a poagie along with the mechanical cables.
