This was found before anyone was injured, but the complete title is more graphic, should you decide to follow the link.
There's photos, but you've got to consider the obvious downside of leaving the wire in place long enough for the police to arrive to document and investigate.
I've often thought of this sort of thing after seeing a murder mystery in which the victim was garrotted on her habitual morning horseback ride. (Of course, someone who was after me in particular could still position a wire at the correct height. That would throw people off diamond-frame bikes.)
