Why do so many companies have websites with no way to contact them? I don't what to make a phone call. I don't want to use snail mail. I want to send email. But I'll settle for filling out a contact form. But I couldn't even find that for several sites the past few days.
Blazer International:
http://www.blazer-international.com/productdetail.php?itemno=C6355&cat=7C6355 - LED EMERGENCY LIGHT W/ WORK LIGHT WITH 24 DIODES
They have apparently redesigned the product since they created the web page. It has 26 LEDs, not 24. The original product (C6350) has 18 LEDs (3 rows of 6) on the face. The enhanced product (C6355) added 6 white LEDs with a separate switch on one edge (They call it the side; I'd call it the bottom.) as a utility light. The ones I bought have 14 red LEDs on the face, and 3 red LEDs on each end (the sides), and the 6 white LEDS on one side (the bottom). You can see this in the not-terribly-clear photo on their website.
This error is compounded because the various vendors carrying the product use the manufacturer's description on their websites.
Walmart:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Blazer-LED-Magnetic-Warning-Light-Red/15111218This page has the incorrect description of 24 LEDs for the C6355 light.
The description says "The non-scratch, heavy-duty magnetic base mounts to any metal surface." This is simply not true. Many metals (stainless steel, aluminum, tin, copper, brass) do not have a strong response to magnets.
(It has a clearer picture than Blazer's site, though.)
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Blazer-LED-Magnetic-Warning-Light-Amber/15111213This is for the amber C6350A light.
"24 amber LEDs" - no, 18; someone assumed it was like the C6355. Blazer's page (
http://www.blazer-international.com/productdetail.php?itemno=C6350a&cat=7) clearly says "18 DIODES, AMBER". (And as mentioned, 24 isn't correct for the C6355 either.)
The description has the same wrong statement that magnets "mount to any metal".
The first customer review says "They have about six or seven different blinking and running patterns...." and "They come with rubber lined mount clamps for handlebars or seat / fork posts mounting." Neither of these statements is true. There's one flash pattern, and no mount clamps of any kind. This guy must have been reviewing a different product. "fork posts" doesn't even make sense, and I can't imagine mounting this big light on the steering fork (the vertical portion of the frame connected to the front wheel) - unless it's facing sideways. Some potential purchasers will be seriously mislead by this review.
And there's no way within their website for me to tell Wal*Mart any of this.
Home Depot:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Blazer-International-Warning-Light-6-1-4-in-LED-Triple-Function-Emergency-Lamp-Red-with-Magnetic-Base-C6355/202498031The same incorrect 24-LEDs description. But I was able submit a comment form telling them this. Makes me glad that they're the vendor I purchased from.* (Maybe they'll even contact Blaze International?)
*2018/02/18: The Home Depot page has not been corrected.
