We have a
total lunar eclipse tomorrow morning. I was considering setting an alarm, but the weather forecast says rain and cloudy. Even with good weather we wouldn't see the end of the eclipse. This will all be going on in our western sky, and in our yard that view is mostly blocked by trees. I think there would be a good view from the office roof, downtown (assuming the weather were to co-operate).

anniemal says the skies were clear here (so much for that forecast), and she saw (half of) the eclipse. The trees were in the way, so she had to go find a clear view to the west. And the moon did set before the eclipse ended, and was below the tree line before that, and the sun rose, making it even harder to see.
She also got to see a crew install a new utility pole yesterday. I saw the pole on the ground when I left for work. (She said it had been there for days, but I often don't see the front of the house for days - or weeks, if the lawn doesn't need mowing (winter). There's a 4-5' (1.2-1.5m) drop from our yard to the sidewalk and street level, so anything along our side of the street isn't even visible from the house.) She was surprised that the hole for the pole was about 6' (1.8m) deep. Apparently there is some coordination among several organizations to move all the services on a pole - Verizon, Comcast, Dominion Power?
