bye bye, Dailysteals

For a week or two Dailysteals has been saying check out their new format. Tonight they seem to have lost the old format. And they've lost a customer. The new presentation has a lot more on the page. It took a very long time to load. I don't have the patience, and it's more than I want to look at. And their new layout is using canvas fingerprinting. That means I'm not their customer, I'm their product. They have identifying info on me. They don't need to track me this way. The only reason for them to do this is so they can sell my identity to other sites that use the same tracking technique but who don't know who I am. These other websites can buy my identity from Dailysteals if they match my canvas fingerprint. I choose not to play. Bye bye, Dailysteals.

Sigh, NPR.org is using canvas fingerprinting.
