mucked up

I had hoped to go to NC this weekend, but things were mucked up beyond normal last week and this weekend was the time to fix them. Some of it's fixed. There was a lot of other work scheduled that was not part of my plan; some of it got done. And there's work planned for next weekend that's going to involve a lot of time from a lot of people, so I knew months ago that next weekend would be out for travel. We should have been preparing for that, but we had other things to fix.
I did mow the back yard today. But the mower's batteries are not holding enough charge to do the whole yard. I replaced the batteries about 4 years ago, but the previous set went 11 years. I'm wondering what's behind that dramatic decrease.
