lost leash?

The skies were threatening all the way to work today. The forecast said little chance of rain. And I didn't see any rain, but a cold front came through. It was chilly when I left the office tonight. I'm glad I've been carrying that jacket all summer. Mostly it was for getting caught in the rain, but I would have been really cold tonight without another layer.

On the way home I found a Timber Wolf dog leash in the gutter. It doesn't match any of the items on their website. It's the Alpine, but it has both the snap hook and the slip collar. It was in the gutter of a major road, 2 lanes each way plus a service road. It seems that you would walk a dog along the service road rather than the main road. It also seems that you wouldn't loose the leash while you were walking a dog. Really doesn't make much sense for it to have been where I found it.

At my corner (at home) there was a driver across the intersection from me waiting for the green light, waiting far beyond the painted "stop" line. I ran the light (on my bike) and pulled up next to him and explained to him that there was a sensor in the road, behind his car. How do people get to be adults and have so little clue of how the systems that control their lives work? (Yes, I keep asking this.) Maybe they should teach it in Drivers' Ed? Then maybe more people would stop on the correct side of those lines painted at the intersections....
