My new digicam arrived, a day earlier than FedEx tracking said it would. Hooray that it arrived a day early. Usually USPS/UPS/FedEx just leaves packages on our porch. Sometimes they don't even knock, even when someone is home. A couple of times packages have been there overnight because we didn't know they'd come. (We use the back door.) And sometimes these are expensive items. The delivery people don't know what's in the box. Putting it behind a bush -- or in my car and locking the doors (since I usually bicycle to work) -- would be better than what they usually do.

What I want is to know what's expected of me. I want the same information that everyone else involved in this delivery has. FedEx and UPS have shipment tracking on the web. I want an indication on the tracking page that tells me a signature will be required for delivery. Or the vendor could mention this in the email announcing that the order has shipped. Then I know whether someone needs to be home. The sticker on this box says:SIGNATURE REQUIRED
No Indirect Delivery
Signature release is NOT allowed, and a signed Delivery Notice by the recipient is not acceptable.
The vendor wants this box put into somebody's hands. The vendor knows. The shipper knows. I needed to know. Beforehand.
