blood drive

I donated blood again today. Today's drive was rescheduled from Monday the 8th after all the snow. They still seemed to have a good turnout today, and things ran smoothly. I decided to walk to the church. Most people have shoveled their sidewalks, but not all. Some shoveled only to their own driveway, not connecting to their neighbors' sidewalks. And (like the people across the street from us) most people on corners who have cleared their sidewalks have not dug out from their sidewalk to the street, leaving substantial obstacles for pedestrians.

I'd like to know why so many drivers won't move to the empty inside lane to leave room for the pedestrians who are in the street because the snow is 2 feet (0.6m) deep on the sidewalks (pavements). (I guess these are the same drivers who can't figure out how to use the empty inside lane to overtake a bicyclist going half their speed.) Maybe next time I should take some blinkers off my bike to intimidate them?
