team-building

At lunchtime today our division went bowling. They provided lunch too (burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, chicken strips, pizza, french fries, soda). Some people canceled at the last minute, so we had more lanes than we needed. I think everyone had time to bowl 3 games. Most of us were not regular bowlers (at least 2 had never bowled before - and both of them bowled a strike with their first ball) so there wasn't any sense of competition. (Well, nothing beyond a friendly "The geeks beat the boss!" Then again, the boss was bowling left-handed to save her right arm for golfing....) A few people did have their own shoes and ball, but most of them hadn't bowled lately.

We've done this a few times before, but the last time was more than 3 years ago. (So that's how long it's been since the last time I bowled.) Another thing we've done for team building is a miniature golf (aka Putt-Putt) outing, with pizza. There's a county-run golf course a few blocks from here, with a miniature course, so it's convenient.

In my 3 games today I got 5 strikes and several spares. Scored 94, 90, and 129. I took my digicam and captured some video, but there's really no reason to post those someplace public. (If you know the people in the videos, you can get to either the corporate fileserver or my camera.)
