I'm sorry I didn't manage to post earlier. 9 days ago I had no idea there was an election at all. (Someone came by door-to-door campaigning for the incumbent.) What was on the ballot in Vienna?
I actually drove by a sign that said to vote yesterday, but it was at 4:30 and I could have raced off after dh got home, but I completely forgot by the time he got home.
I don't even know who was on the ballot. All my lack of sleep has made me so indifferent.
Also, I just voted like a month ago in town elections. Oh, Devolites must have been on the ballot, but I have no clue who else. What do you think of the tunnel idea for the Tyson's Train project?

I haven't been hearing that much about extending the Metro out there, but I think it should have been done years ago. From a land-use viewpoint, I think underground is good for providing the service without consuming more surface area. As a passenger, I would prefer an elevated system so I'd have something to see. (Tunnels are boring, excuse the pun.) Big downside for tunneling is the cost, but surface construction would be even more disruptive. Either way would be a big improvement if it got a lot of cars off the roads. I have conflicting preferences, but I want them to just get the rail service out there (and out to Dulles (and beyond)).
I used to live (and work) near/along potential routes, and there was always speculation about where stations might be put.
