I cleared almost everything out of the carport this evening. We have painters coming tomorrow to tackle the deck and the carport.
anniemal cleared stuff off the deck, and I cleared off more after I got home. There's still some left to move, but it got dark and we got hungry. It's all in the back yard for now. Except for a little bit that's out at the curb, hoping some passerby will help him/herself to it. We're particularly glad to have the back corner of the carport empty. We should be able to get the van entirely into the carport now, instead of leaving the nose sticking out.
One complication is a ladder we keep leaning against the back of the house - robins have built a nest on it. I didn't realize it was a new nest, because there had been one there before. But it is a new nest. And we need to move the ladder for the painters.
anniemal wants to
move the nest to a tree branch, but I don't think the nest will have enough structure if it's removed from the ladder, and I don't know how one would attach the nest to a branch. I think we're going to have to move the ladder, and probably lean it against the maple tree. But will the robins continue incubating if the whole setup moves?
