USPS limbo

I guess no one brought the mail in yesterday, but the last item (SRAM Apex Rival Force Rear Derailleur Barrel Adjuster Assembly) from my Jan 5 Amazon order finally arrived - expected Jan 10-16. Mid-week, the tracking webpage said the package may have been lost. It has detail now, but no explanation for the 35-day gap between Denver and Indianapolis.Shipped USPS First Class

I guess this is why people have such a low opinion of the postal service. 39 days? No updates? Even a small package, or a letter, might be critical for someone. It's great that the vendor shipped the next day, but it's a wasted effort when USPS loses it someplace for more than a month.
