Smart-Speakers eavesdropping? Here's an idea:

A voice-operated power switch, that's not on the network. You give a voice command to turn on power to your web speaker, do the things you want Google and Amazon to hear, and then give a voice command to turn the power off. (Maybe also have an auto-shutoff after 5 minutes, in case you forget?) The smart speakers can't be monitoring us when they don't have power. (I'm assuming there's no battery backup in there. Maybe not a good assumption; it doesn't take much battery to record hours of digital audio until the power is back.)

Apparently there's phone apps out there listening to us/everything all the time too, so be careful what you install.
