silence rained out?

It's past time to take my shower, but we're getting another thunderstorm.

Tonight's ride home was a feat of super-humid endurance.

The power's been off at home. Clocks are flashing, and there's a 2-hr gap and then a 1-hr gap in my webserver's log.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday thunderstorms. The forecast is rain for the next week.
Friday is Bike-to-Work Day: "Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. High near 69 (20.6°C). Chance of precipitation is 90%."
There may be a lot of T-shirts left over this year. ☹

I've gotten home very late the last 2 nights because it was raining storming (or about to) when I was going to leave.

The Ride of Silence is this evening. I've been only once (2015). Since then either my work schedule has conflicted or/and I'd forgotten about it. I never see anything about it online; only that once, the year I went. I wouldn't have remembered it this year if it hadn't shown up on my Outlook calendar at work.

I can't recall whether it's always been the same week as Bike-to-Work day. Accuweather is saying cloudy at 19:00 and thunderstorms at 20:00. I don't know whether they'll postpone (to Saturday) for the weather. But if the ride goes 19:00-20:00, leaving people to deal with getting home in a storm isn't good. (Maybe it will depend on how many people turn up?) The planned route is 9 miles. At a slow/easy pace, with traffic lights, that will be about an hour.

The forecast for Saturday isn't much better; the chance of rain drops to 80%.

[I don't think the DC ride happened this year. There's no Ride Report online.]

Wednesday 16:00

How busy are these bike trails? 3 cyclists came by while I stopped to take quick photos of this tree that was blown over sometime after my commute home last night. As I got under way again, a 4th cyclist came down from Roosevelt Bridge, but turned south (away from the tree) on the Mt Vernon trail.

Wednesday 23:28

[This may make more sense a couple of postings later....]

At the end of As It Happens they played the sound clip again, and I heard "laurel".
I'm hearing the show again at home, and here I hear "laurel". (I did get one "yarel"....)

At the office: AIH on streaming audio from CBC/Toronto through the iPhone and the (new) Cowon Bluetooth headset: mixed results, "yanni" consistently until the end of the show ("laurel").
At home: AIH rebroadcast on WAMU through a receiver and speakers: "laurel".

I left work earlier tonight and did not get caught by the storming. (I still had light rain both ways today.)
