-Jouno always seemed like a really well-grounded guy. I mean, a spaz, but a character who was pretty grounded in 'reality' inasmuch as anyone in a series where card games rule the world can be. It was nice having his perspective on things and he provided not only a strong base of support for Yuugi as a friend, but someone for me to relate to going 'hold on, seriously, this is getting out of hand' when it started to do so. I also felt I could relate to him through several of his insecurities as a guy; wanting to protect his little sister and not feeling he was able or even worthy sometimes...that really hit home for me.
Also he just seemed like he would be fun as hell to hang out with.
-Sometimes he felt really, REALLY forced. Part of his charm is that even when he's strutting around putting on a front it seems very 'natural' and he's a very natural character, so when they FORCE that it really grates.
-Every time this normal, average, every day guy went toe to toe with some kind of eldritch horror I wanted to stand up and cheer for him. Also: Any time he made the MANRY FASE. You know the one.
-I honestly can't think of any that stand out but it has literally been YEARS since I have seen an ep of DM so that might be it.
-Most of Jounouchi's clothes looked like they'd be really comfortable and I kind of like all of his getups because of it. I'd totally wear that shit.
-Mai. I know, way to be unoriginal. But they tug my little heartstrings.
-Honda is the only TRUE Jounouchi brOTP. They will be friends for LIFE. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to turn in their bro card.
-Dueling isn't something he sticks with forever. Sure it's a big for him during the time of the show and maybe a bit after, but I think it's also something he grows out of where some other characters might not. I think this would be as much because of how out of hand it got as anything--because Jounouchi is more grounded in reality than to want to stay in something that people get so unrepentantly batshit over.
-Seriously there is nothing sexual between him and Kaiba. NOTHING. This is apparently one of the most unpopular opinions one can have?
-I wish that they hadn't tried giving him mystic trappings of his own during certain story arcs. He doesn't need them to be a strong or interesting character. He is all the more awesome for being able to stand in the storm without them.
-Don't ever let a YGO spinoff take him and throw him in with the rest of the 'past lives and magic powers' crew, but I'm pretty sure that's already happened, so fuck it.

And yes, MANRY FASE. There will never be another like it.
Also, there's nothing wrong with a bit of Jounouchi & Mai, since the series gave it such an interesting build up. It's just a shame nothing really conclusive came of it. As for him and Honda being bros, they are one of the best examples of guy friendships in the series. It made me die a little inside in this fandom to come across this one girl babbling that the two of them aren't bros because it "took away" from Jounouchi's friendship with Yuugi. Just... what?

YES! EXACTLY! I didn't bother arguing this point with her though, because judging from all the other batshit in her journal if Yuugi and Jounouchi so much as talked to anyone else then the whole world would collapse in this chick's eyes. xD
