As people may have noticed, I try to avoid posting about politics or my many, loud political opinions in here. Mainly because when I discuss politics IRL it has turned into screaming matches with people who are very near and dear to me, and when I do it on the internet it has broken web-friendships, which is both stupid and sad.
But this whole thing with Obama releasing his birth certificate because Trump started investigating.
Look. I long ago grew REALLY. FUCKING. TIRED. of people talking about how that whole stupid 'lol not born in america' conspiracy is "republican nonsense", and I am already REALLY. FUCKING. TIRED. of people gloating about how the release of the certificate "makes fools of the republicans". I am DAMN tired of entire conversations derailing into "stupid republicans" over this one, stupid little topic. Because it is not REPUBLICANS who believe in this conspiracy. It is FUCKING IDIOTS with their heads so far up their ass they can't find a legitimate piece of ground to stand on and so start crowing about bullshit at the top of their longs because they need something to bitch about or they will explode. Are some of them republicans? Sure! But I don't know one single republican who buys into that stuff. Maybe some who wondered about all the secrecy a little, but no one who bought into the absurd conspiracy. And I'm ACTIVE in my party. I know thousands of good solid republican folks in the greater upstate area alone. And as an aside, Trump is about as conservative as a bucket with no bottom so if people could stop referring to him as one that would be awesome
A small sect of lunatics believe that a mother should still be allowed to to 'abort' her baby after it has been completely born. They claim it is still not 'alive' and does not have the right to be 'alive' until the mother decides to take it home from the hospital with her. To me, this sounds less like 'pro choice', which is often reasonable, and more like 'pro highly responsibility-dodging infanticide', which is not. These crazy bitches do happen to identify as members of the democrat party, (at least a few are in positions of political power in the party) but no way in HELL would I run around saying "democrats kill babies" or that they don't think a newborn is a human being until someone gives it permission to be. Because they don't. CRAZY FUCKING BITCHES kill babies and believe that you're still not human until and unless mom looks you over and says 'well okay, I GUESS you can live'. There are people who believe that the average American is too retarded to take physical care of themselves to the point that junkfood or even anything that isn't actively 'good for you' should be federally outlawed, or at least strictly rationed (again, federally). I do not run around saying "democrats want to invade your home and spoon-feed you" or "democrats want to arrest you for eating donuts" or make the baking of a birthday cake a federal offense, because while those of this bunch I have heard do identify as democrats, they are in no way representative of the whole. It would be stupid to think or say that. And let us not even touch the hundreds of conspiracy theories every bit as retarded that circulated about Bush. I think the only people who call them 'democrat conspiracies' are the people in on this stupid birth certificate thing.
I'm used to my party/religion/race/gender getting generalized into the Evil Empire, judgmental and hateful of all, but for some reason this just really ruffled my goddamn feathers. Maybe because I was recently put on ignore by another 'friend' of five years when my political leanings came up. She's not reading this, but that is a really goddamn stupid reason to tell me never to call again.
I believe that making broad generalizations based on a small, vocal, extremist minority is considered bad, you guys...but most of the people making this one, I've noticed, do an awful lot of it. God bless free speech, but God also bless the freedom to respond that comes with it--do everyone a favor, and if you hear one of these tools (of any faction) shooting their mouths off, whack them upside the head. Even if only verbally.
