Hmmm. Thinking about blowing this Harvard Extension popsicle stand and applying for the M.A. in Gender/Cultural Studies at Simmons. (Don't tell Harvard I said that about the popsicle stand.) More and more I am feeling the lack of Foucault, Habermas and Bourdieu in the Harvard Extension course offerings.
Anything you-all might be able to tell me about Simmons would be greatly appreciated.
Simmons does rolling applications for this program. They also give deadlines. This combination confuses me. Anyway, if I hustle to get the stuff in by Dec 15 I could apparently be in the program for the spring. Even if not, they let you take two classes before official admission to the program.
So I've been scribbling on bits of graph paper trying to work out how soon I could finish the Simmons degree, or how soon I could finish both the Simmons and the Harvard degrees. At the end of this term I will be two classes and a thesis away from finishing the Harvard degree. So, popsicle stand or not, it seems worth finishing. But I really am excited to get started on the classes available at Simmons. It looks like I could finish up the Harvard coursework with summer classes, but it's not clear how I would get a good block of time to work on the thesis.
Hmmmm.
