Yay me & Z, we voted today. It's a fairly symbolic act here in Cambridge, but that didn't stop us. The polling place is at a school where the 7th graders hold a "bake sale" every election. That is, they resell Dunkin' Donuts. I mean, go them for raising money for school trips, but couldn't they call it something else? Anyway, I gave them a buck but did not take the nasty (so nassssty creamy sweeeeeet gooooey I mean nassssty) donut. Because I am Committed To Eating Right.
Eating Right lately has involved a fair bit of brown rice and kim chi. Especially good now that cold season is upon us.
Classes are a mixed bag. I've had some good talks with one of my instructors, but the other two classes seem not-so-relevant. I think they can be relevant, but I'm not sure how to get better engaged.
Z & I are getting new windows put in. Some of the ones we have now are original from when the building was constructed in 1980. They suck. Others are replacements from six or so years ago when I had a sudden window shortage - the sills were rotted out and a window fell out of its frame to shatter on the ground 2 stories below. They also suck, because picking a name like AAA Window Replacement out of the Yellow Pages does not guarantee quality. Now we are splurging on Pella windows. They actually do come with a guarantee of quality. I am soooo looking forward to a lovely warm bedroom where I don't hear every conversation that walks down the street outside.
Speaking of the street below, nothing bad wound up happening on that night the Red Sox won. Whew.
So, in short, my life lately is fine but not terribly eventful. How's that,
alice_ayers? :-)
