So the Boy Wonder* was graduated tonight. All the family is in town, and we all went to the ceremony tonight. As he crossed the staged I yelled out "GO BOY WONDER" but he didn't hear me, which is sad.
Tomorrow is his graduation party, and I made a big batch of Greek pasta salad for the occasion. Finely chopped kalamata olives, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, and artichoke hearts, plus feta cheese, plus lemon juice and the marinade from the olives and artichokes, all mixed in with orzo pasta. Well, orzo pasta + alphabet pasta + itty bitty stars pasta. It is for a graduation party, after all. I put it all together tonight and now it is in the fridge so all the flavors can get married and have little flavor babies** and it should be delicious by tomorrow afternoon. It probably won't fit in with the potato salad and smoked brisket and chips that will also be there, but it will be a delicious outcast.
When I walked in the house today, my brother called out "SO WHERE'S MY GRADUATION MONEY?" I promptly pulled a penny out of my coin purse and handed it to him. It was a 2009 penny, so not only was it shiny, it was highly fitting. I am so win. He didn't seem to appreciate it, though.
And now it is 1:15am and I need to go to bed. On Sunday, there is nothing planned, and I intend to spend Sunday playing Katamari Damacy all day long.*** Mmmmmmmmm solitude.

**I have no idea where that came from. I apologize.
***Or until I decide to do something else.
