This weekend was kind of busy!
Except for Friday night. Friday I came home and was asleep by 6pm. I woke up at 10am the next morning. Whoasleep.
Saturday afternoon, I took Hawking to her first vet visit. I got her all signed up for the Kitten Plan, and they gave her her first shots after doing some tests. She was NOT a happy kitty. She's pretty whiny anyways (she gets really pathetic when she is tired and wants in my lap) but when they took her back to draw her blood and do the "fecal exam" she yowled as if they were murdering her. I knew it was coming because a coworker took her brother and he did the same thing, but it was still sad to hear. But when they brought her back into the room it was funny because her leg and butt were wet from the rubbing alcohol swab, and it was pretty obvious she'd put up a fight. I knew she would, she's a feisty little thing. They they gave her ringworm some other kind of medicine (apparently she had ringworms something) and her shots, and she whined about both (I think she was more complaining about being held still, because she didn't noticeably flinch at the shot like it hurt her) and then clung to me so they wouldn't CRUELLY TORTURE her anymore. Poor thing has no idea she has to go back in three weeks. She was fine as soon as she got home, though, and took right to tackling Tesla's head as if she'd never been gone. I'm sure Tesla was thrilled to have her back.
By the way, Hawking thinks her name is STOPIT. Tesla was doing something the other night, and I said "STOP IT" in my Serious Voice, and from across the room I hear Hawking's little "Mrow?" and I laffed.
Saturday night, I went to Tom's Burgers with
sparklyaria,
gutterballjen,
kandigurl, and
auracel (Brandy, Jeni, Jess, and Megan, respectively) for dinner and had a delicious burger, then Jeni, Brandy and I went to see Prince Caspian and I completely fangirled over Reepicheep. I LOVE YOU REEPICHEEP. It made my heart happy to see him on the screen, complete with red feather on his circlet, and OMG THEY HAD TINY MOUSEY BAGPIPES and yeah that was pretty much awesome. Also, I really kept waiting for Caspian to deliver Inigo Montoya's line.
THEN. I slept, and today I did a whole lot of nothing (reading mostly) and then went to babysit for a coworker and had fun playing with the kiddo. And then I came home and now I should go to bed before work tomorrow but I don't wanna. I was practically falling asleep while I was babysitting, and now I'm wide awake. Thanks, brain.
EDIT: Okay, so apparently it was NOT ringworms that Hawking had. Ringworms are the highly contagious, makes-fur-fall-out Bad Things. She had something else I can't remember. My memory fails SO HARD.
