Hooray!
It just hit me that I have THREE MORE WHOLE DAYS OFF. Sunday and Monday are just me and my apartment, except for trips to catmean's apartment to feed her cats, and Tuesday is Christmas.
I'm not halfway through the weekend, I am a mere 1/4 through the weekend. SWEET.
It's a four-day weekend, and the best part? I'll be paid for two of those days. I still can't believe my luck sometimes. Paid holidays! Man. Paid! Holidays! Those are magical words.
I'm taking wistfulmaid's Nutella Cheesecake and this Blue Cheese Potato Salad to my aunt's house for Christmas day. Between the food and the presents I'm taking, I predict I will be a very popular gal :D
I got Mason, my 5-year-old cousin, a SUPERHERO STARTER KIT, which comes with a red cape, various masks, stickers to make an emblem on a shirt, wrist guards (to protect against bad guys, bedtime, sisters, broccoli, sticks, and stones), and tips for creating a good superhero name. It is actually a really cool book, I might have to get more for other Short People I know. My favorite part is the "Super Do's" and "Super Don'ts". DO: Eat breakfast (Saving the day takes a lot of energy), brush your teeth, use phrases like "Don't do it bad guy!", use your cape in the rain (Rainwater will dry and make your cape even stronger), and Stand up straight, because no one trusts a sloppy hero. DON'T: Chew gum on the job, tuck your ape into your underwear, use phrases like "I'll save you at the next commercial", sneeze into your cape (it's just gross!), or brag, boast, strut, or high-five yourself. The pictures in this book are amazing- kids running around in superhero getup.
What I'm saying is that I want this book for myself. But because I love my cousin, I will give it to him.
For my other cousin, Madison, I bought three CHOOSE-YOUR-OWN-ADVENTURE books. WIN! I'm pretty excited that these are being sold again. I think she'll dig them. She's almost 10 (geez! She is almost ten??? When did that happen???) and she's just at the right age for them.
Ahhhhhhh. While I was at B&N, I got their toasted marshmallow hot chocolate. I am very sad that their toasted marshmallow syrup is seasonal. I am tempted to buy a bottle to keep at Coffee Haus. The stuff is delicious. I wonder if bearded coffee guy would let me do that. He would probably give me lots of dirty looks and threaten me with a marker.
My apartment is overrun with boxes! Packed boxes, empty boxes, flattened boxes. Tesla is having a blast. Sitting on them, or in them, or leaping out of them on Very Important Business. Or leaping IN to them on Very Important Business. You know. Cat Business. It is Important Stuff.
